Wanderlight — Privacy Policy

Wanderlight has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind. We do not build a profile of you, and we cannot identify you.

What we do not collect

Wanderlight contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, and no social-media SDK. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, calendar, microphone, camera, or advertising identifier. There is no account to create, so there is nothing for us to attach data to.

Location

Wanderlight can ask for your location only while the app is open ("when in use"), and only to power the optional Near you list, which shows landmarks within about one kilometre of you.

• Your coordinates are used entirely on your device, to measure the distance between you and the landmarks already listed in the app's catalogue.
• Your location is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. It is not sent to any server, including ours.
• Your location is never written to storage. It is held in memory only, and is gone when the app closes.
• Declining the permission is fully supported — the Near you section simply does not appear. Nothing else in the app is affected.

What is stored on your device

The following stay on your phone, are readable only by Wanderlight, and are deleted when you uninstall the app. None of it is transmitted to us.

• Your display preferences (theme, language) and whether you have seen the intro screens.
• A cached copy of the content catalogue, so the app works offline.
• A record of which guides you have downloaded, and the downloaded audio itself.
• Which content you have unlocked.

Network requests the app makes

Wanderlight talks to only two of our services, both hosted on Cloudflare:

• The content catalogue. The app downloads a public list of countries, cities and landmarks. This request carries no information about you.
• The audio service. To play or download narration, the app asks our service for a temporary link. This request includes a randomly generated installation identifier and the identifiers of the audio being requested. That identifier is not linked to your name, email, or device, and is not used to track you across apps or websites.

As with any internet request, our hosting provider necessarily receives your device's IP address in order to send a response. We do not use it to identify you and we do not combine it with anything else.

Purchases

If you buy a guide, the payment is handled entirely by Google Play under Google's own privacy policy. We never see or receive your payment-card details.

To keep track of what you have unlocked (including across a reinstall), we use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous installation identifier and the details of the purchase itself. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Children

Wanderlight is a general-audience travel app. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you and cannot identify you, there is no account to access, export, or delete. To remove everything Wanderlight has stored, uninstall the app. For purchase records, contact Google Play or RevenueCat.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note it in the app.
